Is this a number 5 of 6 sized nib?

For Pelikans, there is no #5 or #6. The nibs are sized for certain models. The M250 nibs fit in M200-M400 pens, I believe. I'm not sure if they'd fit in M600, but if so, they would look too small.

@rubendh

dr.grace is absolutely right. M250 nibs share the same collar size with the Pelikan 140/M150/M100/M200-series/M250/M400-series and M600. This means that the nibs are interchangeable between those models However, this doesn't mean that the nib size is the same - there is a difference. Smaller pens like the M100, 140 and M150 have smaller nibs and larger pens like the M600 have large nibs. You should always be careful when installing a larger nib on a smaller pen - the inner cap might touch the tip of the nib and twist the tines as you screw the cap on.
As for the size of the nib, the size of the M250 nib is best described as a #5 nib. Here it is in comparison to a #5 TWSBI nib.
