Good morning fellows,
I recently acquired a Visconti Fountain pen Jacque De Molay 700th year anniversary limited (139/700) edition with Stub nib. It has never been even dipped in ink. It has 23 K Palladium dream touch nib. I have a dream touch nib medium on my Visconti Homosapien and Platinum edition. I am not sure if I should even dip it or not. I love stub nib on my Montverde Invincia stealth pen and it's my favorite pen. I am not sure if I should even keep the pen yet. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? I guess I can always put it on sale, since it's too rich for my taste.

Harsh

P.s. Shipping and Insurance at buyer's cost.

1. Don't ink.
2. Keep safe for a few years.
3. Have fun auctioning.

Just a suggestion.

P.s.
That is possibly the nicest Visconti I have seen yet. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you SIR, it is a gorgeous pen and amazing size with heft to it as well. That's the only reason I was even considering inking it and checking it out, but I am definitely gonna use your suggestion and not ink it yet.

Normally, I'm the heathen that says "ink it". I won't bother with a pen if I won't use it to write.

I'm making an exception in your case. In your own words (emphasis mine):

I guess I can always put it on sale, since it's too rich for my taste.

It sounds to me like this pen does not strike you as a writer. Better to resell it and get something more to your liking. I find it attractive myself. But I agree. It's just too fancy for a writing tool. You'll get more value in reselling it than in writing with it. And, please note that "value" is not necessarily financial. I get more value out of a pen that is inked all the time.

My advice is if it's 'too rich for your taste', don't keep it, and sell it now. Most pens don't increase in value very much and don't make good investments. :)

Personally, I don't see the point of buying a pen and not writing with it.

I completely agree with David! Pens have been created to write. I had a MontBlanc 146 Solitaire in Sterling Silver, which was in my opinion "over my budget" and way too expensive for me to own and use. So the best way is to sell it to someone who would use it. You can use the money to purchase something you will use afterwards. My advice is to auction it or just sell it.
