Curious how you can ask 50 less than retail with no box, and based on the fact this been through 3 sets of hands before you got it.

I recognize this impulse but price policing seems uncool.

It is in his hands and it's his item to sell, he can charge what he wants and it is up to the buyer to determine if that is a fair price or not. And while it would be nice to know of the chain of ownership of the pen, and it is more honest complete to openly state it, it is also not really a requirement, again the potential buyer could ask that if it mattered to him or her. Besides, the condition is what it is regardless of who all owned the pen before him. I know if I were buying I'd want to see more pictures.

Maybe he is asking $50 less that retail w/o the box as a STARTING price and wants some wiggle room as many who buy on here wants to feel like they negotiated a good price.

Your intention might be good (to forewarn the members of the board who might be considering a purchase) but I still wonder if it is inappropriate for people to throw a monkey wrench in to another's advert especially as there doesn't seem to be anything misrepresented as far as I can tell.

Is there a defect in the pen that is being purposefully hidden or not disclosed? If not, I don't see why he can't ask a whatever he wants for it.

None of my business either but as someone who had someone sabotage my adds here once, I can say I didn't like it one bit.

There is the increase coming in 3 days as well...

This pen will retail for $650 starting on July 1st.

Nibs.com and Nakaya announced this a couple of months ago.

Nakayas also hold their value very well.

Okay. Asking $499. Bet you're glad you didn't pull the trigger and buy this thing yesterday.

:P :D To be honest I expected this to show up after the trade, just thought the play date would last just a tad longer. Best of luck though, it was sheer elegance while I had it.

By the way didn't see it in your original listing, but might help to mention it does at least have the original kimono even though not the box (unless you're holding onto the kimono).

Nope, the kimono is included. Seems like some would really like to know the reason that I am selling it. I personally never care why sellers sell what they do sell. Here goes: I am selling this pen because I have been curious about the Piccolo for many years now, but have never purchased one. When I was offered a trade by KBeezie (who is awesome to trade with by the way) I jumped on it because now I could try a Piccolo without being out any cash. I really do like the pen, but see it as more of an office/shirt pocket pen which would require a clip. My first choice here would be for someone to offer up a trade for a Piccolo with a clip, I don't see that happening so I am starting the price at less than new but close enough to new so that if/when I sell it I can go buy a model with a clip. Honest, I am not trying to be devious here. I've been trading and selling a lot of pens lately because I am at the point where I want "the" pen and have gone a bit nuts trying to find it. I have a couple of pens headed my way now that could very well end up here for trade/sale if I don't see them as "the" pen. Sorry if this puts some out but I just don't want to be a pen hoarder anymore.

Wish I had the cash for this. Lovely little pen!!! And this guy Is as straight up as they come. Deal in confidence here.

And if you don't like the price, make an offer PRIVATELY. He's a reasonable seller and would likely at least be willing to entertain offers.

Last bump. Pen will probably be pulled after today and price will never be lowered.

The pen will retail for $650 starting tomorrow and no one is going to discount a Nakaya ever. All retailers will have the price hike.

Some of the models went up already... and I only know cause i have most memorized lol

The new Nakaya metal thread versions are starting to come out and they start at $550. According to nibs.com they will not increase in price like the all ebonite editions. Personally, I'm extremely interested in the metal thread version for the added weight.

Well crap, if Nakaya is moving away from fully handmade pens then I am going to bump up the price of my pen. $499 shipped.

Because then it wouldn't be for sale. If you want that version, call them today...right now. Prices are going up.

Late to the conversation, but the last I looked, the Piccolo model in standard finishes was not increasing in price.

I don't know the finish on Heraclitus's Nakaya Piccolo, though. Maybe it's one of the ones that are increasing.

Dang it. I should verify for myself. Hold on.

*GASP!* They all went up!

This doesn't affect me, cos I ordered my last (hahaha "last") (yes, last) Nakaya Piccolo a couple of weeks ago. Also, missed their shipping cost increase. Wow, though.
