Just when I thought I was safe from the pull of carbon fiber this shows up! I'm not normally too keen on Sheaffers but this one I may have to add to my collection once funds are accumulated... I wonder if the wife would miss running water for a month?

Interesting... this one does nothing for me, though. For $70, there is any number of pens I would rather have...

Gosh, I actually really like the looks of that! I don't know about the metal section and the c/c filler though.

Nice looking pen with a longish metal grip section which should be much easier to hold than a Lamy Studio.
Great close up of the barrel material. The woven style looks pretty neat being both hi-tech and seriously business like at the same time.
A commendable bit of spring in the nib for some line variation too.

Ha! You can't resist the power of the dark side!

The spring surprised me. My other Sheaffers's are nails.

Thanks for the review.

Carbon fiber has never done much for me, but I liked the look of the lacquer/chrome striped version of this line since I first saw it. I finally gave in and have a cornflower blue one on the way with a B nib.

I wasn't keen on Sheaffer either for a number of reasons, but getting one of the new Sagaris pens may have changed that. I've only had it a couple of weeks but it has been first rate in all respects so far. A little thinner than I'd like but still comfortable enough for all but really lengthy writing sessions.

Good to hear. I was looking for a B nib but could not find one when I was shopping.

Penhero @ ebay. I just took a quick look and counted seven with B nibs they currently have up there.

That's where I got this one. They did not have them then. This was the only one.

You bought it from their site or at ebay from them?

eBay, but I did check the site at the time.

I received my Intensity today. Smooth nib but much too early for any final verdict on the pen. Here are a couple of pictures.

Cool. The line looks a bit stubbish.

Hmm...not really. The nib is certainly not cut like a stub at all.

But I think you'll have to buy another Intensity to make a definitive judgement. :D

Krazy you mention nib tuning in your article. Do you do this yourself or do you have a go-to nibmeister?

I will not be buying fountain pens for some time. I have plenty to review though. :)

I grind and tune my own nibs. :) There is one exception. I had my first stub ground by Tyler Dahl.

For those interested, found the Intensity on Amazon for $60. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003E4UMHA/ref=pe_57250_28628670_email_1p_0_ti

Thanks for the review KI. I like my Intensity also and never had any problem with the nib smoothness.
