Hi there, sorry for coming up with so many posts within short time but this afternoon I finished another pen with high relief "takamaki-e" urushi work, showing ancient Chinese coins from the Han period on a black stone ground "Ishime-ji", one copper pair and another brass pair.

Cheers,

Martin

Martin, are those real brass and copper coins embedded into the lacquer?

Hi Penwash,
The coins are built on the ground with urushi lacquer and metal powders

Martin, if you don't mind me saying - since I don't post much here: you aren't making pens, you are making works of art.

I hope to own one of your pens in the future.
