Long time FP user (form 3rd grade), love to use pens, just recently began looking at the aesthetics of them
Also recently I have abandoned the blue-black-blue black tyranny towards colored inks.

So now I have the heavy burden of teaching my girls the use of fountain pens, and cursive writing.... just erased from the american education system

Welcome - I applaud your efforts in picking up the torch. Hopefully, you can make the lessons fun and wind up creating future fountain pen loving, script-writers. One or the other;)

Welcome! I just taught my 10yr old cursive at home using the book Cursive Logic. It wasn't a burden at all!
What I find interesting is that the teachers themseleves have problem reading cursive, they have asked my 8th grader to write in block and not in cursive
so the problem is more the "Why do I have to do it at home?" than ability :(
