Jetpens has just released a "purple fountain pen ink comparison" (http://www.jetpens.com/blog/purple-fountain-pen-ink-comparison/pt/895) that compares drying times, water and highlighter resistance and divides into color groups various purple inks from the following manufacturers:
Caran d'Ache
Diamine
Herbin
Kaweco
Monteverde
Noodler's
Pelikan
Pilot Iroshizuku
Sailor
Waterman
In the past they have made similar comparisons with black (http://www.jetpens.com/blog/black-fountain-pen-ink/pt/20) inks, dark green and teal (http://www.jetpens.com/blog/dark-green-and-dark-teal-fountain-pen-ink-comparison/pt/797) inks, red (http://www.jetpens.com/blog/red-fountain-pen-ink-comparison/pt/848) inks, blue (http://www.jetpens.com/blog/blue-fountain-pen-ink-comparison/pt/387) inks, blue-black (http://www.jetpens.com/blog/blue-black-fountain-pen-ink-comparison/pt/767) inks and gray (http://www.jetpens.com/blog/gray-fountain-pen-ink-comparison/pt/755) inks.
Even though they only compare inks that they sell on their site, I find these comparisons to be very useful.
No connection to Jetpens but they do sell a lot of cool stuff. :thumb:
