Montblanc 221, cap difficult to remove

Hello,
I have a Montblanc 221 fountain pen. When installing the cap until it clicks it becomes very difficult to remove. If I install the cap only to the edge of the ink window it holds firm and comes off easily. I know the cap should cover the ink window. There are no cracks or other damage to the cap. When examining the inside of the cap nothing appears damaged. Any suggestions to fix this problem would be appreciated.

Have you checked whether you installed the metal triangle ring on ink window correctly? It is supposed to be embedded within the ink window not simply placed above the ink window.
