I have a fully restored blue Esterbrook transitional with a 2556 fine nib. The Transitionals precede the J series. They have a flat bottom on the barrel and a three ridged cap jewel. The depth of color on this particular pen is stunning. The pen has been fully cleaned and restored and writes well.
