Hello all, long time lurker officially joining in!

I mostly collect demonstrators, but also have a couple of smaller side collections including some Nakaya Piccolos and Gaudi-inspired pens.

Glad to make all of your acquaintances!

Hey Kenshiro!

Welcome to the Fountain Pen Geeks forums! Smaller than the largest pen fora, larger than some, you'll find a comfortable community of pen-centric people here, with a growing body of posts, reviews, and group knowledge. Mostly, you'll find people who are enthusiastic about fountain pens, and fountain pen people.

Join in!

Hello!!! Please join us at the Big Apple Pen Club next Thursday. A great place to start, to show your favorite pens, to ask questions, to plan your Next Pen (there is always a "next pen", right?), to see the beautiful or unusual fountain pens that members have accumulated...or purposely collected.

*******************************************

It's October, so it's time for a meeting! It will be next Thursday, October 13, 7-9 PM, at Bard Hall, just west of Columbus Circle, directions below.

If you have not been able to attend one of our regular meetings before, please do join us! The crowd is eclectic in every way one could imagine, except for our shared love of fountain pens. Bring your pens -- whether to show off (we do a lot of that...), sell, ask about repair needs -- and your inks or paper if you have something we might have not seen. Feel free to bring any kind of food or drink in with you.

This time we'll share our meeting with a guest presenter!: Musician and author Michael Kovacs will be giving a seminar on the Art of Personal Letter Writing as well as how to make your own stationery! All you need to bring is a bottle of ink that you liked at one time, but never use anymore. All other materiels will be provided for free! Michael has been doing this seminar across the country for the past five years at various pen shows including The DC Pen Supershow, Dallas, LA, Long Island, and Philadelphia. He has also been published in Pen World Magazine. Mike's presentation will start around 8, don't miss it!

We look forward to seeing you next week!

Directions:
Bard Hall, the residential building for Bard Graduate Center, is located at 410 West 58th Street in Manhattan, just west of 9th Avenue/Columbus Avenue. The best way to get there from almost anywhere in NYC is via subway -- take the 1/A/C/B/D trains to 59th Street/Columbus Circle (note: 2/3 trains do not stop at 59th, even though it is a major intersection). Depending on which subway exit stair you use, put Central Park behind you and walk around the southern (left) side of the Time Warner complex, which is 58th Street. Walk west on 58th (against traffic); 9th Avenue/Columbus is the next intersection west. Bard Hall is diagonally across the intersection and three addresses downhill on 58th at 410, immediately west of the small construction site. Please tell the guard you are there for the Pen Club -- you will be expected and directed to the proper room. There's no need to RSVP.
