Hi, all. Here is another review of a lovely ink from the samples given me by Lady Onogaro.
This time we have Pilot Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku. in the description on several pen retailer sites it is intimated that this means Peacock. It is described as a deep blue turquoise.
Pen used is a Charcoal Grey Lamy Safari, medium nib. Paper is Georgia Pacific Premium Ink Jet and Lazer Paper, 24 weight.
The color of this ink in my opinion is really spectacular. Accordingly, this will be a very biased review. :) Fair warning.
It is a very vibrant, quite beautiful ink, definitely leaning to the blue side or turquoise.
Full disclosure; I purchased a full bottle of this ink as soon as I could, that is how much I like it. It will be a regular in my pens as long as I can get it.
The ink flows very well, and IMO is decently, but not overly wet. About 12-15 seconds dry time on this paper. Little to no bleed through on this paper, with this pen.
A bit pricey at around $28/50ml. It is also available in a 15ml bottle, which was the size for my wallet. :)
It is not waterproof, but quite water resistant. I took a washcloth, soaked it and wrung it out good, and smeared the page with it. The ink smeared and ran, but never became illegible.
All said, in my very biased opinion, a beautiful deep blue turquoise ink that is a pleasure both to write with and to look at.
Thanks for reading!

Keep your eye open on Amazon for this ink. I've seen Iro inks regularly under $20 a bottle.

Nice review of a good looking ink.

Possibly may favourite Iroshizuku ink so far. Though Kon-Peki looks interesting. I keep a Lamy Safari inked with this stuff almost constantly.

That's great; my Safari is constantly inked with this. :)
Thanks for reading and commenting.

Your writing sample undermines your argument! :) There's a lot of interesting shading going on there! And your handwriting is so lovely!

Thanks :)

But you see these shading differences only because of my inability to write consistent with my dip nib (especially with this ink as it seems to flow really good) between two dips (as the darker areas were exceptionally wet).

Donīt get me wrong, I like the color but shading wise it was a disappointment for me.
Using a FP it always look very flat and monochrome.

If you like this kind of color and want a ink with stunning shading capabilities I would recommend E.g. Noodlers Navy.

But please prove me wrong and show us a sample from a FP with at least moderate shading.

Thanks for the review - it had all the stuff I like to know! This was the first Iroshisuku ink I bought, and I need to revisit it after so long not using it.

Noodler's Navy is the first ink I keep loaded all the time AND in more than one pen!

Ive been using Iroshi inks for several years, even going back to when they were not branded at 'luxury' prices. KuJaku is my absolute favorite ink color of all time. Nothing, imo, comes anywhere near the shade this ink produces.
It is my 'desert island' ink.

Thanks for reading and I agree; it is absolutely beautiful.
