If you have leftover chlorine bleach, do NOT pour it into an empty plastic Coca-Cola bottle and place it on a shelf above where folded laundry is placed. After the chlorine eats through the plastic, the results are an extremely unhappy spouse who starts making plans to replace favorite parts of her wardrobe. At least her Christmas list won't be a mystery.

Same advice goes for kerosene in a plastic milk jug. Lesson learned the same hard way except for the laundry room bit. I was at least smart enough to have the kerosene in a metal cabinet in the garage with all the other petroleum products.
