This sale is financially necessary (to pay for a Torelli customization job) and probably a good thing, as a collection, for me, is a distraction.
1. Pelikan 400 Tortoise--excellent near-mint earlier example (script nib and no cap band engraving) with a tightly sprung flexible M nib. Great smooth writer, but perhaps a bit on the dry side with no pressure (actually a nice feature, if you ask me). Captop engraving is still completely highlighted brown, no obvious dings, scuffs, brassing. The binde color is great and varied on this one as well. Piston works great but could use a light greasing. $195 $150 shipped to US* SOLD

2. Pelikan 400 Black Stripe--user grade example with excellent color--very very clear viewing stripes--and a Fine tightly sprung flexible nib--a wetter writer with a bit of tooth. General "drawer wear" and a bit of brassing to clip washer but nothing serious--still a stylish pen. Barrel imprint excellent, with "55" (1955) date code still present. Small, repairable crack just above cap band; doesn't affect fuction. Piston works great as well. These are relatively uncommon (the rarest of the 3 major colors), and here's a chance to get one cheap. $100 shipped to US* SOLD

3. Aurora 88 (vintage)--good example with no major flaws (unoxidized section and piston knob, cap is clean, etc.). Nib is a pretty soft semi-flexible medium--great potential, but tines need some adjusting (has occasional hard starting issues because of tine gap). Piston mechanism just professionally restored by Eldon Braun--works wonderfully. Serial number in the 900,000 range. $105 $75 Shipped to US* SOLD

4. TWSBI Vac Mini--EF nib, beater example, some (currently) functionally insignificant cracks (just send it in to get free replacements), has ink starvation issue (will sometimes go dry, even with valve open, after a paragraph)--some say they've solved this by removing the shutoff gasket. Works, but just not that well. A voucher for a replacement. Comes with box and wrench. $25 shipped CONUS* SOLD
5. Sheaffer Snorkel Specials--2 nice pastel blue examples (only minor wear to bodies), one with Palladium Silver nib, the other 14k; each comes with original box and instructions. Medium nibs on both--the Palladium silver one is quite nice. Both need new sacs. $35 Shipped to US* SOLD
6. Cross Aventura, Blue--a starter pen with some flair. The nib is pretty nice for a modern steel medium--slightly wet, smooth etc. Some wear, but nothing major. Comes with empty cartridge. $25 $15 shipped to US*
