I've gone back and forth with myself about selling this because the nib is so wonderful. It's a bit of a "Frankenpen" in the sense that nib and maybe the grip section are from an early hard rubber version Sheaffer 8C, but the pen body is celluloid from some years later. In the early celluloid versions there was a time when the grip sections were hard rubber while the pen bodies were celluloid, but the nib dates from time when they were hard rubber and the clips were straight. At any rate, the nib is a huge, wonderful, smooth, amazing, firm fine point nib, one of the best firm fine point nibs I've ever owned. Maybe the original owner thought so too and had the pen body replaced at need. I don't have any idea what the nib is worth, but I don't see any flaws, and so I would imagine that the nib alone is worth over $100. The pen body is shiny and the imprint is deep. There's not much brassing. There's a "nick" on the lever (pictured). You can see that the top plate of the cap isn't perfectly fitted (anymore?), but it's much more pronounced in the magnified photo than to the naked eye. I replaced the sac a few years ago and have used it only sparingly, and not with "risky" inks.
