I just received this haul yesterday and am loving Solferino so far. I think this may be the start of another addiction lol [emoji7][emoji995]

Looks good, you can´t go wrong with R&K inks they are great.
My favorites are the iron gall inks Salix and Scabiosa.
Leipziger Schwarz is a great drawing ink, when washed it show amazing colors.

I had the IG inks before but I was too afraid to use them :(. So I traded them to someone. I might have to get them again though. Someone mentioned that these aren't corrosive.

I love Alt-goldgrun and Cassia. They are the only two I've been able to try so far.

I'm sad I didn't get Alt-Goldgrun, a friend showed me a blot of it and it's the greenish color I've been looking for! [emoji24]. Maybe next order :)

I've used Sepia, Morinda, and Scabiosa multiple times. I do enjoy Alt Goldgrun, but i find it a bit too "interesting" for prolonged writing.

You don´t have to be afraid of modern IG inks, they are completely unproblematic and will neither harm your pens nor cause higher maintenance efforts.

As an example of modern IG inks I may show my favorite drawing pen which holds ESS Registrars Blue-Black continuously since several years without any cleaning just refilling.
And imo the ESS has a quite higher IG concentration than the R&K inks.
The residue you see can be easily wiped off (the R&K inks do not leave any residue at all) and the nib show not the slightest sign of corrosion (even I modified it mechanically (Ease my flex mod: http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/240492-noodlers-ahab-ease-my-flex-mod/ )).
IMO not using modern IG inks means not using some really amazing inks with extraordinary writing performance (especially on poor paper)

I adore Cassia, Smaragdgrün is also quite lovely. But they're all great, I have 9 of them so far, lol.

Wow thank you for all that info! I will certainly to get some IG inks to try, I think I will start with the KWZ Violets. Those are amazing pictures using the RK inks, drawing is on my list of things to get better at. Perhaps in this new year ^_^

It's Scabiosa for me. I'm not particularly fond of the purple when I use it in broader nibs but I really like the dark purple - almost black in a fine/extra fine.

I also love Alt Goldgrun in a flex nib. Should also be beautiful in a stub. I have Noodler's Army Green so I'm not going to get Alt Goldgrun but that would be on my next to get list from R&K.

A long time ago I had samples of Alt Goldgrun and Cassia and I really liked them both. I can't remember why, but the one bottle I bought was Alt Goldgrun. I've forgotten what Cassia was like. :)
