Hi folks,

I am selling a vintage Lamy 2000 pen and pencil set. There used to be an Omas and a Pelikan as well, but they have moved on to happy homes.

This is an early (1970?) Lamy 2000 fountain pen and pencil set. It comes in the original box, sadly missing the brochure. These boxes alone are terrific, very vintage, and great for displaying the set.

The pencil is 0.5 mm and works perfectly.

The pen is one of the best 2000s I've ever used, with a professionally set up nib that writes wet and smooth, as you would hope for from a 2000. Being an earlier generation the nib isn't blobby and has a tad of softness. It's a fine 18K.

Most older 2000s have gone from grey and rough to smooth and black due to use. While the texture is not perfect (having been slightly marked by storage), this set looks a lot like a new set.

Overall, a great useable, historical pen and pencil set. I'm asking $165 plus shipping.

Thank you for looking.

Hi folks,

I'm a little surprised there has been so little interest in these pens. Is there something I should know?

Thanks for any insights!

Ralf

In my case it's not a lack of interest, merely a lack of available cash!!!! I would buy all three....

Thanks Carlos, I was starting to think I'd gone nuts with my pricing or something . . .

Au contraire mon ami. IMHO this ad is an example of what a good ad should contain: the pens are well described, any features or defects are mentioned, there are various pictures and you also include a writing example for each. To top it off, these are all well known pens and the prices are very good.

So as far as I'm concerned I don't buy these pens because I'm broke and wondering: "Why did I have to spend my money on food?"

The Omas is sold, thank you.

Carlos, I ask myself the same thing every day. For soem reason, feeding kids once isn't enough- once you start you need to keep doing it!

Ralf

The Omas lives here now. I am teaching it to speak Korean.

The pen arrived in great shape. It is a shame that those cap bands got so mangled (as noted in the listing, I think Ralf has it exactly right, the celluloid shrunk a little and someone thought they could tighten the cap bands by sqeezing them and now they are all bent up and brassed).

The pen fills full and easy & as also noted the nib is freaking glorious. I generally don't like F nibs bit this one is outstanding. Springy, wet ebonite feed, perfectly alingned tines so it delivers the ink on the page like a champ. Those pre 200x in house Omas nibs are gangbusters.

I lucked into a bottle of Sailor made Maruzen Athena Sepia, which is not really a sepia (seems too dark to call it that) but a somewhat chocolate-y dark brown with a hint of red/burgundy. So yeah. Some kind of 80s/90s Omas 557/S with some Sailor writting juice. (I must of have been nostalgic for Omas Sepia Ink)

WE'RE GOOD!

Both these other pens look great. Buy with confidence. Super happy with the Omas. Ralf is a pleasure to deal with.

okay back to work everyone.

Thanks for the kind words, Stub. The Pelikan is now sold and off to live in sunny California. Lamy set anyone?

Best wishes,

Ralf
