HisNibs.com update -- Moka, Ebony Brown and Vampire Red
March 25th, 2013

Greetings,

We're offering a new Jinhao model...the Moka. It's available in black, red and blue and follows the overall shape of the Montblanc Marlene Dietrich.

We also have two new colors from Private Reserve ink...Ebony Brown...and Vampire Red!

Also, we're now stocked with a number of new Private Reserve cartridge colors. These include Foam Green, Purple Haze, Rose Rage, Sepia, Shell Pink and Tropical Blue. See all of the cartridge colors available here http://www.hisnibs.com/ink.htm.

The Moka's surprising shape and posting method are reminiscent of two other pens that come to mind, the Monteverde/Walt Disney Sleeping Beauty, and the Montblanc Marlene Dietrich. I've read that Montblanc designed the contoured shape to be reflective of Ms. Dietrich's figure and signature trouser suits. As you can see from a web search for prices, the Moka is available for a miniscule fraction of the cost of those two pens (on Montblanc's website for instance, I've seen their pen listed for $935.00...and it only takes cartridges!)

Ebony Brown joins Ebony Blue, Ebony Green and Ebony Purple...for a darker version of each color.

Speaking of darker, I think that Vampire Red qualifies...on more than one level!

First Planet Around Alpha Centauri: "Alpha Centauri Bb" What name does the public want?

http://www.uwingu.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/kepler11_1000x563-1.jpg

"Boulder, Colorado-Space company UwinguTM has launched a new public outreach project-a public contest to determine the worldwide public's choice name for the nearest known planet around another star. Anyone can nominate a name; the contest ends April 15th."

You can also vote for my entry, FIRENZE.

As I wrote when submitting it, "A wise Centaur from the Harry Potter series, he sides with humans and helps Professor Dumbledore -- against his own kind -- to resist Voldemort. Dumbledore rewards him by appointing him Divination instructor, as Centaurs observe the larger movements of the stars and "watch the skies for great tides of evil or change that are sometimes marked there."

Those Jinhao Mokas look the same as the Jinhao 15 a great pen for the price. The blue metallic finish is incredible and there is also a darker metallic red as well as the solid gloss red.

They are also well balanced enough to stand vertically.
