14K medium nib - very smooth and wet writer, good line variation, consistent, have not experienced any dryness issues.

What makes this pen special is that it is capless, just twist the body and the nib comes out and ready to write!

Pen is in great condition, few cosmetic defects as shown in pictures where color is coming off. Also, the little rubber piece near where the nib comes out is a little worn from one side. Doesn't affect function of pen in any way, only small cosmetic defects.

Pen fully functional, ready for use.

Is the piece of rubber near the nib part of the seal to keep the nib from drying out?

No its not the seal. Never experienced drying out.
