Today the Grand National was won by a horse called Aurora's Encore. A very fountain-penny name, I thought.

What pen/ink names do you think would make good racehorse names?

Noodler's Squeateague would be amusing.

A lot better than SOME of the horsie names out there, said the rabid racing fan who just watched the Wood Memorial...

Nemosine Singularity would be awesome.

Maybe some of the Iro inks?

There are some current names I like... Vyjack, Normandy Invasion, and that tough old campaigner Saginaw.

Crimson Glory Vine, yes!

And +1 for Nemosine Singularity, that is soooo horsey!

Lucky Curve?

Haven't followed Aintree since Jay Trump.

Delta Dolce Vita...

Hero 007...

Bexley Corona...

41 Brown...

For your race horse, you have to submit six names to the Jockey Club and they accept or reject at will. With some of the horse names today I have to wonder what were the rejects.

Conversely, Ruffian, Dynaformer and Zenyatta woukd make great fountain pen names.

Preeesentinnnng: The MB Dynaformer!

Well, they DO sponsor The Breeders Cup races.

And the Montblanc Smoke Glacken...the Montblanc Ghost Zapper...

You should not have encouraged me.
