What Pens Do You Carry With You? Pocket, purse, or carry case? And why those pens?

Of course I used the plural because I assume everybody is like me and has never carried only one pen.

I carry a Pliot Prera F and TWSBI Diamond Mini M.

Both small pens that fit in my shirt pocket comfortably.

Today just a Lamy Safari in my shirt pocket and a Jinhao Pocket Rocket in my front pants pocket...I think they both have Noodlers Lexington Grey in them. I have more in my back pack, but I only use those if I get bored waiting on hold for someone..usually just doodling.

Pelikan 400 ( reliable, nice nib), OMAS Paragon (can't resist), Parker Vacumatic (holds a lot of ink and doesn't bleed much because the nib is relatively dry).

Too many? I try to keep just three going but then more sneak in. :\

Today my leather holder had:
Pelikan 400NN Tortoise
Pelikan 400 Tortoise
MB 144

And my other pen wrap had:
Parson's Essential (stub)
Parker Vacumatic (stub)
Matador 334 1/2

Way too many, need to make myself let a few run dry.

We seem to have quite similar tastes! I've always wanted a vintage mb 142 or 144...you are so lucky!

i keep a 24 case with me at my desk that goes into my brief case if I'm out of the office so I sort of carry 24 depending on how you define carry. However, when my briefcase is not with me, say I'm out to lunch or at a meeting away from the office or shopping, then there are a Pilot Metropolitan and Twsbi Mini in my shirt pocket.

Sometimes I have 14 pens with me in backpack -- 12 in a leather case, 2 in a wallet/clutch bag. The two in the clutch are "work" pens and they're both Pilot 78Gs.

I constantly watch the auctions for the 142s, because they are slightly cheaper....I refuse to spend over $200...and the 142 can be found every once in a while in my price range.

I very seldom carry more than one pen and almost never ever have I carried more than two.

Today it is the Terra Cotta GvFC Intuition.

Up until recently, my most common carry was these usual suspects:

http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd231/kcavers/IMG_3744.jpg
My Sailor 1911 mid, my Pel M400, my TWSBI (now sold off), and my Sailor ProGear Realo.

Then, I acquired Pel 140 with a sweet, sweet, semi-flex medium nib, and this replaced my other daily carries for quite some time (seems I have no pic)

Then, my Onoto Magna 261 took over for several months:

http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd231/kcavers/IMG_6333.jpg

But, this was just too nice (and pricey a pen to remain a daily carry). so I made myself a 'Shirt Pocket fountain Pen' all after my own selfish needs (size, weight, postability, nib, etc):

Daily carry of 12, all inked. If I had a bigger case I would carry more. A Delta Dolcevita oversize, my Classic Pens Jupiter, now my one TWSBI (580), and the rest are Visconti. Always the Divina oversized, my Homo Sapiens bronze, my Kaleido Voyager, and the others tend to rotate. I just reinked them last night so all set for a busy week. :-) Couple of Operas in there, a first round Van Gogh, a voyager, a demonstrator . . .

I use a spacious two pen case for three pens everyday (one of them is always on the slim side). Today, it packs:

1. Pilot VP yellow, Broad CI nib by Mr Mottishaw, an intense dark brown ink that's about 60% Pelikan Brilliant Black and 40% PR Copper Burst. (I'll always have a VP in my daily carry.)

2. Lamy 2000, M Pendleton Point, filled with a concentrated version of Parker Quink Blue-Black. (It's been left unused - by accident - for a decade and is now very yummy. I wish I had 'aged' more than one bottle!)

3. A Hero pocket size fountain pen (a limited production) from the late 70s, which my dad gave to mum when they were dating, fine 12K nib, filled with diluted PR Ebony Purple ink.

I (almost) always carry two pens:

Pelikan M200, F nib, filled with Montblanc Midnight Blue
TWSBI Mini, F nib, filled with either Pelikan Edelstein Topaz or Diamine Sapphire

Sometimes I also carry a vintage Pelikan 140, B nib, filled with Herbin Lie de Thé

Edison Pearl 2012 LEE #57 - .6 mm Binderized Stub
Edison Morgan 2013 LEE #06 - M nib
TWSBI 540 - 1.1 mm Factory Stub
TWSBI Vac 700 - F nib that was an extra Edison I had laying around...
TWSBI Mechanical Pencil (.5 mm retractable)
Uni Kuru Toga - .5mm

The wrap was made by FPN/FPG user Trillium, 9 months to 1 year ago. It's held up quite well!

Awful, just awful, that I should have to classify my pens before answering this.

I have work pens that stay in the work bag--Hero 100s, Pilot 78gs, Platinum Plaisirs, all loaded with Noodlers black.

Then I have pens that stay in my purse, which rotate. This week they are a Yafa c/c filler, a Parker 61 (with Noodlers English Roses) and a Noodlers Ebonite Konrad (with Camel Royal Blue), and a Pilot Vortex

Then I have pens that get packed up for outdoor writing expeditions on my days off--this week I have inked a Stipula Novecento Puccini (c/c filler), a Penscapes custom with a t-flex nib (using as an eyedropper, has a sample of Akkerman Red in it), An Aurora Green Aurolide with Diamine Steel Blue, and 2 Soenneckens.

Today, I'm carrying:
1. Lamy Safari blue with 1.1 Italic, filled with MB midnight blue with a hint of Private Reserve Ebony Green;
2. TWSBI Mini, EF nib, the ink is mostly Pelikan Brilliant Black, with some Private Reserve Copper Burst;
3. Duller FP by Dietrich Lub (similar to a Kaweco Liliput, except this one's got a clip), Schmidt F nib (this is the probably the smoothest steel nib I own), inked with good old Parker Quink Blue.

I have 3 requirements for purse pens:
1. Not afraid to lose
2. Easily replaced
3. Writes well on anything

So at the moment I am carrying the following: 2 Preras, a Sailor Clear Candy and a Sapporo. So how did that Sapporo sneak in there? Darned if I know, but it needs to go back home and be replaced by another Prera or Lecoule.

Almost every day - it's a Sailor Pro Gear with Fine nib (Indigo Blue ink) in my shirt pocket. And this week in an EXB pen wrap (aren't they great!!) is a MB146 Doue with Fine nib filled with Black Eel, a Sailor Profit (large) with an EF nib (5 O'Clock Shadow), and a Conklin Mark Twain with a Medium nib and Soft Mint ink.

I don't carry a purse, but those criteria make sense to me. My normal working type carry is a Faber Castell Basic Carbon, which satisfies those three plus a fourth:

4. Can be used as a defensive weapon if necessary ;)

Also, I always have a Kaweco Sport Classic clipped to some part of my apparel. Unless I'm asleep.
