Yes, “rare” is an overused word in pen sales but I think it certainly applies to the Omas Paragon Arlecchino.
Many/most of you are probably familiar with the story of how Omas founder Armando Simoni put left over celluloid through a pasta maker and produced a small number of harlequin pattern pens, the best of which he gave to his wife. This pen was paid homage in the Omas Arlecchino, produced as a Limited Edition of 750 in the very early 2000’s. Few enough people have ever seen one of these round section pens. Far fewer yet even know of the existence of the Paragon model being offered here, much less have they ever seen one.
Offerred for sale is my Paragon model Arlecchino that was made for members of the Omas Society back when that group existed. Omas never announced how many of these Paragon model Arlecchinos were ever made. The two people I know most knowledgeable of matters Omas, John Colton (RIP) and Manu Catagirone, both told me they believe the number made to be less than 200. Have you ever actually seen one or even knew of its existence? I didn’t think so!
*The "regular" Arlecchino shows up infrequently and when it does, sells quickly at prices around $1000 or even higher.* The Paragon model I am offering shows up only once every three to five years and is much more rare.* Based on history, it could easily be 2020 before you see another posted for sale anywhere. The pen is the traditional Paragon size and shape, with roller clip and thin triple cap bands, and is piston filled with 18K gold Medium nib.* The pen has been very lightly used and is pristine.
I do not have the original box but for slight additional cost can supply the lovely large piano finish box you can see in the pictures below. This box was used for the “regular” Limited Edition Arlecchino as well as the Extra Lucens pieces.
