Hi all,
Recently I find myself smitten with the Aurora 88, specifically, this model:
https://www.nibs.com/pens/aurora/aurora-88-black-chrome-cap
This will be my most expensive pen by far, if I end up buying it. I will definitely try it out in person, but prior to that I'd like some input from folks who have already lived with it for a while. I think I read just about every Aurora 88 review there is, but some details have not been mentioned.
1) Does the cap have any inner lining to prevent the ink from drying out? How many days can the pen sit capped before it hard starts?
2) Is the chrome finish on the cap reasonably durable? How will it stand up to normal use, i.e. in/out of a shirt pocket several times a day?
3) That beautiful, sensually curved clip... How useful is it in real life? Does it retain its springiness?
4) Anything else I should be aware of?
I don't really need another pen. I have a Lamy 2000 and a Pilot Falcon, both of which I enjoy. I created this thread, in part, so that someone could talk me out of the 88 :) I am finally done with my student loans (paid off early) and feel like I can splurge -- but if I do, I want to buy the "right" pen, to stay with me for a long time.
Thanks!
