I've had this for about a year, but haven't used it, I much prefer the 146 size. Just filled once to see how it wrote. I was told by the previous owner that the black plastic threads (and the lack of serial number/'Pix) indicate a somewhat older production, pre 1990. On the other hand, it no longer comes with a plastic nipple on the cap but it has a cap-to crown configuration of metal to metal with a brass screw. According to Barry Gabay this configuration was introduced in 1985, so the pen is most likely from the 1985-1990 period.

- the pen is in good working condition, draws up ink with ease, piston runs smooth, the nib lays down a true fine line and has constant, reliable inkflow
- clip-ring's imprint says 'GERMANY'
- 14K two-tone gold F nib
- black plastic threads
- clear striped ink window
- plastic feed
- the pen is well maintained; it does not have any deep scratches or cracks, just some micro scratches.

- just one flaw: the gold plated ring under the blind cap shows some signs of wear and has lost some of its plating. Please see the close up picture for details.

I'm not an expert but here is a link that might help on dating the pen:

http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/170282-dating-montblanc-149s/page-1

Going by the tread a 14k bi-color nib was produced during 1985-1990, during that time it came with a split ebonite feed, 2 section barrel, and plastic threads. So you might have a pen that was worked on by Montblanc or someone else and put together from a few pens, since you said you have a plastic feed. Your pictures indicate a 2 section barrel and if it has plastic threads that also falls into the 1985-1990 window. So might just be a pen from 1985-1990 that needed a replacement feed and it was replaced with the newer plastic feed that was from 1990 to present. But again I'm not expert, good luck with your sale and hope the extra information helps.

Here is a sample from my notebook when I first got the pen. I'm no calligrapher, as you can tell by my poor handwriting, but I think it shows how the pen writes...
