Great review! I have drooled over the yellow ribbed Sailor for years! It's a beauty, especially with that nib.

It seems a bit odd to have a customisation done on what is already a specialty nib...

Love the handwritten review, Ivan!

I just picked up an 'Emperor' version of the 1911 Naginata Togi recently, but had a bad case of buyer's remorse immediately, and had every intention of selling it...that is, until I actually received it. I decided to ink it 'just to try it out. *HOOKED* (never try the pen if you are planning to sell...)

It has become one of my absolute favourites to use at work (I have a nice sober black one) and I can't imagine parting with it. Very, very cool nib!

Once you see stock vs. modified and write with it, all is clear.

If I can ever get my hands on a Sailor Pro Gear with a music nib, I would not sell it. An Emperor Naginata Togi? Wow.

Great review, Ivan! Thank you :) I wish we had a photo of the entire pen though. I've seen the ribbed black ones, but never a yellow one.

I just thought that the Naginata Togi was one of those "variable stroke with angle" nibs. Doesn't musicifying it get rid of that feature, rendering the extra cost of the nib a bit pointless?

No, the music nib on Sailor is a big iridium tipped stub. It is not something I found out until I handled one in person. It caused a lot of confusion for me when researching the nib.

Curse these cursive stub nib reviews of yours. I'm going to have to spend more time trying to learn to write right-handed.
I like the style it imparts to your script.

Great looking pen too. Yes folks you need to look at the Inktronics blog to see it in all its saffron glory.
However I wouldn't trust my self not to put some black lines on it to make it bee-like or waspy.

The easier to find them if they make their way into Mrs Bogon's sewing room.

Nice. :D

Mrs. Bogon is going to leave you without fountain pens. :pound:
