This Nakaya Portable Writer model bears the beautiful Aka Tamenuri urushi finish on ebonite. Nibs.com writes that “the process of collecting the urushi and applying many layers of lacquer to this fountain pen takes three months to complete.” The beauty of the deep burgundy finish with red undercoat is mesmerizing! I could stare into its depths for hours.
This piece is extra-special in that it features a Nakaya 14K gold Music Nib, a $100 extra that writes wonderfully wet and broad, as shown in the writing sample below. This pen is the more expensive original ebonite thread design and is cartridge/converter filled.

Weight 24 grams
The pen has been extremely lightly used and is accompanied by the original pawlonia wood box with kimono and ink cartridges. Only the rice paper outer box is missing.
