Up for sale is an early version (grooveless feed, long ink window, ca. 1952) Celluloid Montblanc 144 G fountain pen fitted with an exceptional Double Broad (BB) nib.
A rare opportunity to own a remarkable Montblanc with the iconic telescopic piston filling mechanism and the original, buttery smooth two-tone 14C BB nib.

The pen is in perfect working condition as it has been serviced by vintage Montblanc expert Francis, also known as Fountainbel. Francis performed a complete overhaul, including complete disassembling, ultrasonic rinsing, manual external polishing, cleaning and greasing the telescopic system, adding a new piston seal and swaging the cap rings. I would like to thank him once again for his efforts.
Features:
- A wonderful two-tone 14 C BB nib that offers significant line variation. As you can see in the photos, this nib is capable of laying down a huge amount of ink and the nib tines can open up quite nicely under pressure. Without pressure the pen writes more like a B nib, I would not call it a BB nib when writing normally [=not flexing the tines].
- Flat groveless ebonite feed, keeps up very well with the nib (grooveless version had been the common feed on 13x pens, rare to see 14x pens with this feed - it refers to early production).
- Long ink window.
- Telescopic piston filling mechanism that works flawlessly, fills the pen with ease to its maximum ink capacity.
- Truly exceptional writing performance, we are talking about vintage Montblanc at its best. Please check the writing sample.
- Rings show no loss of gold plating.
- No cracks, no dents, just some scratches and microscratches, please check the HQ photos.
No box or papers.
