For sale is a very nice and near mint Montblanc Meisterstück #14 from the 1960's.

The Meisterstück #12 and #14 were the first "modern" Meisterstücks after the famous cigar-shaped #142/144/146.
Montblanc let this pen style by Albrecht Graf Goertz who was a well known Designer in automotive industry at this time (BMW 503, BMW 507, Datsun 240 Z, 2000GT etc...). But he also worked for other companies like Rolodex for example.

In fact, the Meisterstück #14 is a very well designed piston filler which is easy serviceable. The section can just be unscrewed and cleaned. It is fitted with a marvellous B-BB nib with italic shaped nib tip.

This example is in great, near mint condition. Only some marks to the cap of the clip ar visible. It's fully functional and was tested by me. A great pen for use and a iconic example of industrial design.

My price is $220 worldwide shipping inclusive (Paypal)

Just send me a PM if you're interested.

From the pictures and your description of it, the pen is a wonderful piece.

What is the width of the nib tip?

The writting sample did not reveal line width change that I was expecting. Any particular reason? May be you did not try to bring out the line width variation?

Is the price final?

You are right, this is a wonderful pen... :)
But I have to admit that I don't really understand your question. The nib size is as written between B and BB and in my opinion there is actually some line variation visible in the writing sample.
The price....well, I will not post the final price here, but make me an offer if you'd like :)
Thank you.

I got into italic pens only recently. So, may be I did not quite put it right in my email.

Let me explain what I meant by size of the nib. An italic pen can be aligned while moving on paper so as to produce the widest line. When the pen is moved in a direction perpendicular to this direction, the line produced is the thinnest.

The widest line produced by many italic pens is 1.1 mm. This thickness is usually specified by many manufacturers (Lamy, for example). The width of the thinnest line is usually not specified, but can be guessed if horizontal and vertical lines are drawn so as to produce the widest lines (in one direction) and thinnest lines (in the direction perpendicular to the previous direction).

What is the width of the widest line of the Montblanc that you have put up for sale?

Best regards,

Satish

Thank you, Mr. Christof, for letting me know the width, 0.9 mm. I am definitely interested. Beautiful pen. Would you consider bringing down the price to
US$ 180?

Best regards,

Satish
