Hi
I am new to the Forum and would be grateful if someone could give me some advice on this pen ?
I believe that these were made in Japan in the 1970's by Sailer for Sheaffer !
Does anyone know what cartridges and converter would fit this pen ?
I have tried fitting a standard international cartridge which works but is very wobbly and falls out easily !
I have been googling it but to no avail !
Any advice would be welcome!

Inkerman,

You want these: https://smile.amazon.com/Sheaffer-Skrip-Cartridges-Blister-96310/dp/B002IKKKY6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1498767016&sr=8-2&keywords=sheaffer+cartridges

Sheaffer does make international cartridges, but don't use those. Use the regular Skrip cartridges.

Many thanks for your prompt answer - I just tried to order some but they do not ship to the UK !
I will have to see if there is anywhere in Europe that stocks them !

Inkerman,

Cultpens has them. https://www.cultpens.com/i/q/SF00423/sheaffer-skrip-classic-ink-cartridges

They might also have a converter for you.

Hi
I have just spoken to Cultpens and they said that they are very unlikely to fit a vintage Sheaffer and most certainly don't have any converters likely to fit !

Cult pens is almost certainly wrong in this case. It is likely the due to the word Vintage. What you have is certainly not a vintage Sheaffer but a modern Sheaffer cartridge/converter pen.

I stated vintage when I spoke to them as this was made I am informed in the 1970/80's, so it is fairly old !
Just got an answer back from Sheaffer Customer services and they told me that this model takes the slim cartridge or converter only.
So thats from the horses mouth, so to speak !
Many thanks for all your advice Guys

LOL

Not really. But they are simply wrong in this case. The pen takes the standard Sheaffer cartridge/converter.

So far as fountain pens are concerned, 'vintage' means older than 1970's or 1980's. :)

If you can't find a Sheaffer slim converter or cartridge the Monteverde mini converter (http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/245460-trz/#entry3042306) should fit.

Again....

If the International Standard cartridge fit in the body of the pen then the standard Sheaffer cartridge should fit. I don't really care what you heard from the current Sheaffer folk; it's like they have never even seen one.

What you want is either the Standard cartridge or the slim cartridge (and the Monteverde mini will work there) and I will admit it's been a couple decades since I owned one of those so I might be wrong. BUT... I have seen them, held them, used them and my memory says Standard Skrip Cartridge.

They are cheap. They are worth a try.

I bet the standard Sheaffer cartridge will fit too. There are plenty of those around that are cheap. :)

That's really strange. I have several vintage Sheaffer pens, and the cartridges fit those just fine. For the cost of the cartridges, I would certainly give it a chance.

Well, you might try to purchase the converters from The Writing Desk:

https://www.thewritingdesk.co.uk/showproduct.php?brand=Sheaffer&range=converters

Peyton Street Pens here in the US has some slim cartridges that you can refill: http://www.peytonstreetpens.com/sheaffer-slim-ii-fountain-pen-ink-cartridges-vintage-hard-to-find-dried-up-but-refillable.html

You also might try ebay UK to see if anyone has them for sale.
