Hi guys,

Saw this listing for an antique waterman on Craigslist:

1940s Watermans Fountail Pen w/ box
https://medford.craigslist.org/clt/6178431469.html

I emailed there owner and asked for pictures of the nib and they sent these:

They couldn't figure how to open the pen and had no idea about the filling system. Think it's worth grabbing? TIA

Must be a lever fill pen, so it will need a new sac. Only problem is that with certain Waterman pens the section can be hard to remove without damage. This one looks like it would be ok. $20 is certainly the max I'd pay, but the nib looks in good condition, though no way to tell if it is flexible or not - some of these are still pretty stiff nibs. If you don't want to do the work I think you are looking at $25 and up for getting it restored and in working order. HTH

Big thanks. Sounds like my $20 might be better spent elsewhere.

Cheers

No kidding. Usually when you find them in the wild they've got wings ground into them to increase the flex.

I googled "Eversharp Waterman Nib" but couldn't seem to find any decent info on them or the pen.

The nib and feed of that pen are from an Eversharp, not a Waterman. Not sure about the rest of the pen. Perhaps it's only the box that's Waterman.
