What is the difference between a solid 14k Parker 75 and a Parker Presidential?

Fred

P.S. I seem to have found the answer. The Presidential is a variant of the Parker 75 line. http://www.parkercollector.com/parker75.html

I have spent the last 24 years collecting very rare, possibly unique Meru
P 75’s

Only ever got 2 – both NOS Boxed with leaflets, one with an outer sleeve.

Was only never interested in production pens, not prototypes

These are the pens I most wanted, some images of them, one day I will have them both

NB - A direct lift from Lih-Tah Wong ‘s excellent and very impressive Parker 75.com site.

2013 - The term "Presidential" is used by Parker to connote their pens made out of solid gold.

It is not quite incorrect.

I would be very interested if anyone wishes to post an image of any Parker brochure with the words ‘ Presidential ‘ printed

I think Dwight Eisenhower had a Presidential Parker 51. I seem to recall seeing one on FPN. Somehow, I think it was 8K solid gold. I also believe there was/is a Presidential 61.

Three very collectable pens, including an immaculate Parker 75 Presidential in smooth 14k gold (with a NOS clip and cap jewel!) were placed in my hands to find a buyer. They were wholesaled to a dealer friend, and if you are interested in buying the Presidential, please PM me and I can put you in touch with him.

The 1961 catalog, for example, shows it.

I would consider these two P75 pens as Presidential

Never seen or heard of a P51 / 61 / 65 one

Just to clarify, Parker called a solid gold (14K in the US) with a smooth finish a Presidential. Similar to the Heritage and Heirloom models.

A pen with a President's signature on it is a different thing all together.

The 1st Presidential pen was the 51. I have owned 51, 61, and 75 Presidential pens/pencils.

The 75 Keepsake should be a smooth Sterling finish if I remember correctly. Very good looking pen.
