I have a Pelikan 140. Taking the nib assembly out, the clear collar that I assume holds the nib and feed together as an assembly is cracked. When I put the nib and feed together, the nib slides from side to side if you are not careful. I have a feeling this is just so close to being an amazing pen. Thoughts Ideas??

It still writes really amazingly.. but I worry that a nib that can move about is at risk for being damaged.

Change the collar. This one should fit:

I once wrote to the Pelikan support (Germany) regarding a clear collar (with cracks) for one of my pens (including pictures) asking for the price of a replacement collar.
I got a very nice personal answer from them and they sent me a new collar free of charge.
That was a really impressive support for a pen more than 60 years old.
