1940 Parker Vacumatic Senior Maxima (DJ, GPT, EF nib, speedline filler). An impressive pen in the sought after Azure blue color. Vac collectors will know that this pen doesn't come around very often. Far scarcer than its counterparts in SJ and DJ configurations, the Azure double jewel Maxima was only manufactured for about a year and a half (1940-1). A brief write-up on this particular model: http://vacumaniablog.blogspot.com/2009/11/my-25th-azure-blue-vacumatic-senior.html Measurements: 5 3/8" capped, 6 1/4" posted, 9/16" cap opening OD. Carries a monotone Vac Maxima arrow nib that lays down a firm, smooth, and consistent EF line. Features an aluminum Speedline filler consistent with a 2nd-gen Vac.
Condition: Fully disassembled, cleaned, and restored with a new diaphragm in the last month - guaranteed to write and fill as designed. Cosmetic condition is excellent: no chips, cracks, deep scratches, personal engravings, threading issues, or missing parts. Deep, fully legible imprint. Jewels on cap and blind cap are nice and pointy. Aluminum plunger is clean, unmarred. Great barrel transparency, yet somewhat ambered to orange/light red (photo forthcoming). Minor high point brassing to the arrow on the clip and a fine sliver around the bottom edge of the cap band. The cap band can be spun but does not protrude and is secure within its groove. On the whole, a superb example of this model – a centerpiece for any serious Vac collection.
