Sailor 1911 Ribbed pens were discontinued a number of years ago and have become very hard to find. Sailor’s specialty nibs are also in very short supply. Here's a pen/nib combination that offers both, available today for your collection and writing pleasure!

Sailor's ribbed pens were redesigned during their production run before all were discontinued a few years ago. This piece in the highly desired dark blue is of the prized and more scarce original design with flattened cap top bearing the anchor logo, thinner cap band, and metal trim ring on the section at the nib. The pen measures approximately 138 mm capped, 123 mm uncapped, and 148 mm posted.

The nib in this pen is a 21K gold Naginata Togi nib that was ground to Cursive Italic by the incomparable Mike Masuyama. The pen writes smooth and wet with excellent line variation as can be seen in the writing sample posted below.

The pen is in excellent condition other than a number of scratches on the blind end cap, apparently from being stored in a pen cup with other pens by a previous owner. This is clearly shown in the highly magnified picture posted below. It is accompanied by box and paper, a Sailor cartridge, and the converter (installed in the pen).

$495 plus $15 shipping within US Offers will be considered.

Shipment outside US may be available at cost. Please inquire.

For those who have asked, yes I am willing to consider cash or trade offers.

I believe the pen is a bargain. I have only seen three ribbed 1911L's for sale recently. All three are the more common redesigned 1911 in black with regular Sailor nibs, and all are asking a significantly higher price than I am. I can send links to those offerings upon email request.

The only reason I am selling it is that I have subsequently purchased two others, one in blue and one in black.
