CONDITION ISSUES white outer box is taped on all corners, the inner box strap over pen is worn, pen is in NEW condition (I have never used it) and I bought it new.

If I had to do it all over again, and could only have one fountain pen... Carene would be the one I would have. I have one in matte black and it just works everytime.

14 years is a long time!! I've been skeptical about waterman's snap caps since the one on my Expert 2 got a bit loose over time. Has anyone experienced that on the carene?

Exactly! the pens are great! Modern inlaid nib is super cool and very comfy to hold!
