Montblanc 144 Bordeaux!

I've been lurking here for years and always wanted a Montblanc pen, but to no avail, either due to financial constraints (student woes!) or because I was afraid about the potential problems a vintage pen could bring. But alas! 3-4 months back a new ebay seller pops up, selling an unwanted pen and I took a gamble. The pictures were terrible and it looked like a black pen, but when I opened the clamshell case lo and behold it's a bordeaux (and for the price of a black one too)! Congratulations. I have a few of these bordeaux 144s with different nibs. One I used since 1983. It never let me down, and I used it extensively. These pens are beautiful, and I used mine with great pleasure. I hope you also have great satisfaction with yours.

Congratulations on a great pen! I just reground the rather wide "medium" nib of my wife's trusty old 1986 144 to a "fine" and it rejuvenated her enthusiasm for this magnificent little pen. As I ground and adjusted the nib, I had plenty of opportunity to play with it, and it is such a pleasant true classic, I almost got a bit envious!
