Yes, they are the same size with modern M400.

M600 old style is exactly the same size with modern M400.
The difference is in nib design,gold band at end barrel and Pelikan logo with chicks engraved at cap end.
So aesthetically the old style looks more glamorous an classier..and of course...older...IMHO.

They are Pre-'97 and was first introduced in 1985 with the edged 2 chicks logo at the crown top.
As the nib is 18K, it is firm.

Having answered the question on nib, I actually pulled out some M600 OS, dry test the nib and it is actually springy..:baby:

Just to be clear, the M600 models for sale here share the same dimensions (length, grip section diameter, etc.) as modern M400 pens?
