Looks like some former Omas employees have got together to start a new company. This pen does nothing for me but the range of nibs sounds promising and maybe there'll be more attractive pens to come.

Scribo website (http://www.scritturabolognese.com) is just a holding page at the moment.

More about them here (http://www.incredibol.net/en/fifth-edition-winners/scribo-handwriting-in-bologna/).

I am glad to see this and I'll stay glued to the emerging developments from this company. I was immediately turned off by the name SCRIBO. Sounds like a new model of Papermate gel pen.

I will be following their launching and progress, for sure.

Thank you for the information.

Nothing on the web site other than the front page picture.

I saw the prototype today at the London Writing Equipment Show and changed my mind about it. The video left me semi-interested and uncertain, but in the flesh the acrylic shines and has depth. Trying the pen, it was buttery smooth. I tried one of the production pens with a fine 14k extra-flexibile nib and ... bought it. I've flushed it, let it dry, and filled it. Don't regret the purchase one bit (well my bank account might). I'm rather lazy at it but I'll try and get a review and photos of some kind done.

I have to say the video left me cold too, although it is great to see scribo making pens! I was at the show today too but didn't get the chance to see the pen. Hoping the next model is more my taste.

Would love to see some pics and writing samples.

I too was meh after watching the video and really had high hopes hearing the story.

Not my best pictures ever and I forgot to do a smear test. It does write like an OMAS, unsurprisingly, though I'm not sure just how flexible the nib is, the booklet with it warns against heavy flexing, and I enjoy it for the extra spring it gives with normal writing.

Funny enough, under normal light/eye sight I never noticed those micro scratches before

Since Oma is German for "Grandma", I still (in my head) refer to OMAS as GRANDMAS.

Thanks for posting the updated video - i'd put it on FPN, but not here.

The pens is selling well, and we've had excellent feedback from our customers. I'll try to post some writing samples. The pen is now on the website, but we've posted it seperately for each nib. The broad flex has sold out, 18 ct medium are low and M 18 ct low.

Very glad to hear it's doing well, and looking forward to further collaborations. So far it seems Omas materials in the hands of other makers have attracted more attention than this revival by Omas craftsmen, which is a pity.

Oh, and welcome to FPG. :welcome:

Scribo is also, of course "I write" in Latin, so the trade name is apt.
