Parker, but am surprised to see the Watermans at a close second. Must be the five Philčas pens I bought over a year's time, in different colors to match my inks. Now the inks outnumber all my pens!

By brand, Parker. By model, I would say the Parker 51, with sort of a "bell shaped curve" of the models preceding and following the 51 Aerometric.

When I saw the title of the thread, I assumed that it would attract the most profligate or, let us say, dedicated, among us. With the possible exception of Deb, in Scotland, that hasn't happened.

Where are all those people who own hundreds of pens? Or indeed thousands.

So I feel encouraged to contribute my own relatively small numbers to this account. Eleven Cross fountain pens, followed by Parker with eight. Among those, five Parker 51s. All of that is as nothing compared with the numbers that could be cited by some who post here.

The Vacumatic Crystals are neat variants, mimicking the Vac Demonstrator as they do. But, I have many. No. The King of the Vacs, one of a handful known to the hobby, is a bit more significant ;)

5 Kawecos: a 1970s V16N OB in burgundy, a '60s-ish? V16 F in black, two Classic Sports (basic black and one guilloche), one AL Sports in black (it's really a dark charcoal).

If I find the Visconti version with the piston filler at a sane price, I'll stop (yeah right).

Hi Guys

Not many pens at the moment as I have only just started collecting them, or only just realized I am collecting them:)

6 Parkers 1 Duofold AF, 1 Sonnet, 2 Slimfolds, 1 45 and 1 Vector

6 JINHAO, 5 x450 and 1 159

2 Baoer 388 Classics, Which bizarrely although they are copies of Parker sonnets actually write better than my actual Sonnet.

1 Conway Stuart Dinky 550.

Not bad for the first couple of weeks as a collector I suppose, and watching a couple of must haves as we speak.

Which would that be? One of the early Vac crystals?

Here's a gift. A photo I did years ago.

The Crystal pattern Vacumatic was early production, late 1933-34 in USA. Most are two-cap-band short pens, Vacumatic Junior. They look like true Demonstrators sans the "Demo" imprint. What is not known to most (indeed, many then old-guard collectors asserted my claim to having one was in error) is that a high-line Vacumatic Standard was produced as Crystal also. The story of how I proved that pen will wait for another day. The Vacumatic Standard in Crystal is frankly rare.

The following photo shows some of the charm of Vacumatic collecting. First Generation Vacs in standard size in all possible transparency patterns. Black pens can be killer and Vacs offer special elements to black pens since clarity patterns varied over the years.

This is the only photo every done anywhere of Vacumatic Standard in black with true-Opaque, typical latitudinal rings, longitudinal windows and Crystal patterns.
