the price is a lot but fair for this pen. I've seen them sell for a lot more.

Don't understand all the criticism of the seller's asking price. I'm used to seeing this pen listed around $1,000 - $1,200.

These typically sell for 1000 mark, so I agree with the other commentator. Now, I wouldn't spend that for a pelikan m800, but the price is consistent with the market. Good luck with the sale!

To those of you mentioning / hinting / complaining about the price of this pen, one exactly like this just sold on ebay for $999 today. Furthermore, I cannot wait for you complainers to list your pens for sale so that I can return the favor of complaining about your prices, should you have the guts to now list your pens. Your practice, on an open sales thread, of bickering and complaining is shameful and you should have been rightfully admonished/warned of that practice by a Moderator. I seem to remember a lesson as a child that if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all. Think about it......

McMck .... two people above were hinting/complaining about the price. The Seller has since lowered the price. The issue is that the selling price is no one's business but the seller. If you don't agree with it, then send a PM to the seller asking why, or make an offer, but you DO NOT quibble about it on an open sales thread! Now with all this being said I hope that seller finds a good home for such a wonderful pen. I bought this very same pen last year and it cost me plenty.

I guess I understood some of the comments about price a little differently. I didn't see those comments as complaints about the asking price but about the persons ability to pay. For those unfamiliar with the pen, it doesn't take long to realize the asking price is very reasonable for this model. I think many people would love to own one but it's not in their budget. For the current asking price I'd buy this if I didn't already own one. This is one of my all time favorites.

High end pens can take a while for the right buyer to discover the listing but I'm sure this will sell.

I read the comments as mulrich did. Maybe I am wrong.
But I'm afraid I had to chuckle at someone called Mckool, losing their cool/kool

I very appreciate for all the justification concerning the asking price. :baby:
