I've been using a long-neglected bottle of Rohrer & Klingner Schreibtinte Verdigris in my mottled hard rubber Mabie-Todd Swan Eternal 44 stub. So, I wanted to see what's what with the color verdigris, and found it appears in a 2014 FPGeek ink review. https://fpgeeks.com/forum/showthread.php/8273-Rohrer-amp-Klingner-Verdigris

The Oxford English Dictionary defines verdigris as: A bright bluish-green encrustation or patina formed on copper or brass by atmospheric oxidation, consisting of basic copper carbonate. The Schreibtinte version is a darker version of "bright," yet I like it not being bright.

Pronunciation: vûrˈdĭ-grē, though vûrˈdĭ-grĭs and vûrˈdĭ-grēs are spoken as well. (I only just discovered I'd been using the Americanized (latter) pronunciation.) Check this out: verdigris (http://howjsay.com/pronunciation-of-verdigris)

I'm on the verge of ignoring my bottles of blue-black in favor of verdigris. It's just a nice change.

Ah, it's always wise to pay attention to a R&K ink. The bottles are so unassuming and the prices so reasonable that people unjustly neglect them. In terms of behaviour they have yet to disappoint me. Verdigis (a dark teal to my eyes) is a lovely colour, too.

Lovely ink, indeed.
I have been using it for more than two years, and never had any trouble with it.
Thank you for the additional informations on the word.

I like it a lot. It's fun and pretty, but still office-appropriate. I'm planning to try it in a broad-edge Pilot Parallel next.

Verdigris should be a greeny grey I reckon, going by the name...
more like Hieronymus of Switzerland's 'Green 03 (https://www.hieronymus-cp.com/store/products/ink-50ml-green-03?taxon_id=696)'

Not that I dislike the R&K ink, it is not one I have but it is one I have thought of acquiring before.

I agree. R&K's Verdigris is not verdigris in color.

I suppose one might choose a different shade for verdigris from the progression of tarnishing copper...

...but none of those are as blue as R&K's version as seen in Goulet's sample (below) and Pterodactylus's drawing (above).

Here's tarnished copper that's bluer and more like the R&K color, though it might be the lighting.

Shall we call R&K's color formula tarnished copper under a cloudy sky? Or artistic license?

Patina (Verdigris) donīt have to be green in all cases, there is also blue patina, so I donīt think your definition that Verdigris has to be always green is valid.

Verdigris means Grünspan or Copper Acetate and also Copper oxid, and these can have different colors.

Look at this Verdigris (Copper acetate)

https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kupfer(II)-acetat#/media/Datei%3ACopper(II)-acetate.jpg

Or at this (Copper Grünspan crystals) Verdigris

https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kupfer(II)-acetat#/media/Datei%3AVerdigris_Gruenspan_vert-de-gris.jpg

So I think R&K did a good job with their Verdigris color

Donīt you think that too?

Yes, it's now one of my favorite inks. It just doesn't match the color of oxidized copper exposed to the elements (i.e., "verdigris"). I've never seen copper acetate until your links to photographs, which show a very blue-colored compound.

R&K Verdigris is a lovely dark teal and a well-behaved ink. I'm using it daily in two Sheaffer Legacy pens, one with a stub and one with a fine nib; the former produces some lovely shading.

I had a sample of Verdigris for the longest time and tried only after a few months had passed. I bought a bottle shortly after trying it.

Beautiful dark teal, R&K Verdigris is a well-mannered ink. Every day, I use it in two different Sheaffer Legacy pens—one with a fine nib and the other with a stub—and the former creates some footy tic tac toe (https://rankdle.io/footy-tic-tac-toe)*beautiful shading.

Look for reviews and recommendations from experienced growers https://herbalhighsociety.com to ensure you are investing in seeds with a proven track record. Secondly, consider the specific characteristics you desire in your plants, such as potency, flavor, and growth traits.
