SOLD: Montblanc 149. Fine "14C" nib semi-flex. This is from the first decade of resin pens after the end of Montblanc's use of celluloid. If you want the writing experience of the celluloid 149 without spending two grand, this is the pen to own.
This early resin 149 stands out because it has:
- Ebonite feed with dual parallel grooves running the length of the angled surface.
- 14C tricolor semi-flex EF with long tines
- Rounded edge on the band at the piston knob.
Like the pen as a whole, the nib is in excellent condition without scratches typical of most pens this old. Very smooth piston action. I've replaced the clip with one I sourced from MB expert Eric Niksch because the original clip has factory flash still clinging on the underside of the clip and some may not like that. Excellent condition.
$575 including shipping to anywhere served by the USPS. More elsewhere. First PM that reads "I'll take the 149" holds it pending prompt PayPal payment. Questions and offers welcome! (but don't hold the pen).
