I have been using this MONTEVERDE 36 Pen Case for a couple years now. I thought I'd put up a review after seeing how it held up under constant use, including a cross-country move in which it was important to me to keep all my pens rounded up and accounted for.

It is made of nylon, with some leatherette edges. It is only offered in black. This is waterproof enough for a short dash through the rain, but don't take it fishing with you. It zips shut nicely and the zipper is strong and reliable. Here it is closed:

The interior is a velour that prevents scratching and each pen is held in its separate elastic loop. There is a stiff flap (also velour covered) that lies between the two sets of pens to prevent them touching. Here is the interior:

I have a couple out-sized pens that need special accomodation--they are the Delta Dolce Vitas with their large girth, which I tend to space further apart (in the photo they are together so you have an idea) , and the Nakaya Desk pen which, at 7.8 inches in length, needs to have the slot above it empty. Note also the FC66 in the photo which I'd also normally allow for the space above it to be empty.

Here it is filled up:

So, OK, it isn't a lovely leather pen vault with saddle stitching, but it is well made and takes good care of my pens. It's widely available on the internet at between $32 to $40 plus shipping. I bought a second one. I like it that I can remove all of my pen collection from the house in one grab, for whatever reason. I definitely recommend this case.

Thank you for your review. I agree completely about this case. I have one that I bought because I travel between the UK & Australia every six months and needed a large capacity yet lighter weight case for the pens I take with me in my onboard bag. Leather cases tend to be heavier even when empty.

My pen case has stood up well to frequent long distance travel, regular handling by airport security and squashes into overhead luggage compartments. It has proved to be excellent value for money.

Thank you for the review. I have asked Santa for a pen box this Christmas, but maybe something portable would be a better idea...

I'd also like to thank you for the review. Much as I drool over those expensive leather pen cases, for practical use and real protection of a lot of pens when traveling, sometimes a well made nylon case that doesn't invite too much curiosity of the wrong kind is what you need.

Plus I'll be attending a pen show next year as a vendor for the first time, so this review is very timely.
