I'm not a smoker, but I find lighters to be quite fascinating in terms of its mechanical properties and the varieties.

Those St. Dupont lighters are snazzy-looking.

Do you collect lighters? Is there like a community of lighter fans, just like fountain pen fans?

My grandparents had two magnificent heavy, elaborate chased silver table lighters, which I inherited. How I wish I still had them.

There's this one:

http://forum.table-lighters.com/

but it doesn't seem to very active. I found several other lighter sites in club format.

I found this one:

otls.com (On The Lighter Side). Pay membership -type club that looks like pretty active, they organize conventions etc.

I just let two of my ST Duponts go during a charity auction; the Cigar Band Ligne 2 that I carried and used daily for many years and a Moon Ligne 2 from the Sun & Moon collection that was given me as a gift.
