Condition (n.b.): The pens listed below have been restored in the last month. They’ve been cleaned, outfitted with new sacs, and their nibs adjusted when needed. Each is guaranteed to fill and write as designed without leaks or other issues. Note that I use genuine silicone sacs from David Nishimura on pens with colors sensitive to discoloration. Some pens with these sacs have a tendency to seep ink into the cap if not stored with nib upright. If you would like a latex sac instead, I'd be happy to install one free of charge.

Shipping: To CONUS locations buyer may opt for either:
• USPS First-Class with tracking for $4
• USPS Priority with tracking for $7
Please contact me for shipping quote if located overseas (delivery confirmation required).

Order, Payment, & Guarantee: Pens are placed on hold for the first person to PM me with firm request to purchase, to which I’ll reply with payment details. If I haven't received Paypal payment within 24 hrs, then they become available to the next person. All pens are guaranteed to be in the condition in which I've described them. If I've missed something or the filling mechanism is not fully functional, the buyer may contact me up to 7 days after receiving the pen for a full refund (issued once I receive the pen back in the same condition as sold). I've sold pens online for roughly a decade. Please check my past listings here as well as on the classifieds and historical sales forums on FPN (username: Estragon) for some of my previous offerings.

2. 1934 Sheaffer Balance Oversized Autograph (Marine Green). Solid gold clip and cap band stamped 14k. Cap band has been impressed with the elegant signature of 'P.J. Jernigan'. Measures 5 5/8" capped with cap OD of >1/2", as one would expect from an oversized pen. Proper two-tone Lifetime nib in the upturned "Waverly" style lays down a smooth and consistent F/EF line with nice flow. Near mint condition with bright, even color to the barrel and cap, and deep, fully legible barrel imprint. No brassing whatsoever to the trim. No chips, cracks, bent or misaligned tines, missing parts, or threading issues. Restored with silicone sac and ready to write. A beautiful, collector-grade example of this pen.

note: Silcone sac installed to preserve color, but these sacs can cause ink to seep into the cap if the pen is not stored nib-up. If buyer prefers, I can replace it with a latex sac on request at no extra cost

Price: $290 SOLD

1. 1934 Shaffer Balance Oversized (Black & Pearl): Not an easy pen to find in this condition. I've personally never handled a black and pearl Balance with color anywhere as nice – simply stunning in person. I can discern no discoloration from outgassing of the sac and no color disparity between the barrel and cap. The effect is heightened by a patch on one side of the pen that is almost entirely pearl. Measures 5 5/8" capped with cap OD of >1/2", as one would expect from an oversized pen. Proper 14k Lifetime nib lays down a smooth and consistent EF line. No cap lip hairlines, chips, cracks between the colors, personalizations, bent or misaligned tines, missing parts, or threading issues. Imprint is deep and fully legible. No brassing but for the side-corners of the clip ball and small slivers on the corners of the lever in the center (very minor). No cracks between the colored sections, as one often finds on these late Black and Pearl pens. And no crystallization to the ends of the cap or barrel. Under a loupe, I do see what could be a couple of 1-2mm craze-lines where the colors converge at the very tip of the pen. These appear to be confined on the surface yet can't be felt with a fingernail. Restored with a genuine silicone sac to preserve the color. On the whole, a gem of a pen for the Sheaffer collector.

3. 1930s Conklin All American (Grey Lizard Skin). This one has been in my collection for some time. But I recently picked up an American Mabie Todd in the exact same celluloid with *nickel trim*, which better fits my white trim focus. So the Conklin has to go! Conklin pens in the lizard skin pattern are already difficult to find, but in this condition they're downright scarce. The All American line didn't hold up to wear as well as their Endura and Nozac models. Pen measures 5" capped. It's equipped with a proper, semi-flex All American nib that lays down a smooth and consistent XXF line (flexes to about a M). Spring-levered clip as found on Enduras of the period. Condition is superb: no chips, cracks, personalizations, bent/misaligned tines, threading issues, or missing/mismatched parts. The imprints on these were very light from the factory, but this one shows little wear at all and is still fully legible: "The All American Pen / Made in USA / A Conklin Product". But for a minor rough spot to the edges of the lower cap band in the front (to the left of the clip in the first photo), I see no brassing to the trim. They don't come much nicer than this one!
