SOLD!

Hello all,
I recently received this in a trade and as cool as the material on this pen is, it's a little too chunky for me for daily use. This pen was originally owned by Joe Crace of The Gentleman Stationer (great pen review blog if you've never heard of it) and he took exceptional care of the pen and also wrote a great review of it.

This pen is hand-turned from a rod of yellow celluloid veined with black. It's an absolutely gorgeous material that is bright and fun with lots of depth. The pen is absolutely full-sized and fairly thick. The nib was originally a medium 18k rhodium-plated nib, but was ground to a fine, cursive smooth italic (CSI) by the ever-talented Mark Bacas of Nibgrinder.com. It's an absolute joy to write with and is forgiving of even my sub-par handwriting. A treat, for sure. And in the right (write [emoji3]) hands, it will truly be an amazing writer.

The pen features a sterling trim ring deco band around the cap and a smart-looking barrel engraving. It is numbered 0268. The pen is a piston filler with a rather unique knob under the blind cap which has a clutch mechanism that "clicks" when fully retracted so as not to over-turn the knob. Genius. ***One issue with the pen: When capping the pen, you have to align the nib feed-up towards the clip (so as you're inserting the nib into the pen, the feed and clip should be aligned). If you don't do this, the cap doesn't seat fully. Joe believes this is due to the fact that these threads are hand-cut and it's just a minor flaw in the design. It doesn't bother me and caps perfectly with this one caveat.

Included with the pen is all original paperwork, original wooden box, original bottle of Delta Black Ink in the Pompei bottle to match the set and both (yes both) outer cartons (it's a box in a box in a box...).

I really enjoy writing with this pen and it's so fun to look at, but it's just too large to be practical for me so I'd like to find it a new home. These originally retailed for somewhere in the $900-1000 range, but Joe got a good deal on it and passed that on to me in trade value so I'm passing that on to you all.

I'm asking $250 shipped in the US or $300 anywhere in the World. Considering the box is fairly large and heavy, shipping won't be cheap, but I'll go USPS Priority Insured or UPS Ground (your choice).

Please PM with questions or offers.

Thanks,
Matthew
