As the title states I have vintage Wearever Pacemaker for sale. It is a button filler and it works. The nib is fine and firm and it writes very well; much better than I had anticipated given its age and the "cheap / entry level" stigma the brand seems to carry.
It has been restored to some extent. It's not perfect, but it's a whole lot better than it started. The old ink sac was replaced. The spring bar mechanism was soaked and scrubbed to knock off most of the accumulated rust. The cap and barrel were buffed and polished to remove the decades of grime and scratches, and I didn't find any cracks in either component. The nib was scrubbed and polished a bit to restore its shine. The barrel band was loose and I "glued" it back in place with a tiny amount of shellac. It seems to be holding, but with some heat it can be removed and repaired differently should the new owner choose. The only real disappointment is that in the last 70+ years someone had chewed on the black cap covering the filler button. There were tooth marks and the cap itself is a bit distorted (not uniform and straight). I did what I could to eliminate tooth marks, but it still retains some vintage character.
