Up for sale is a Soennecken Rheingold 616 fountain pen fitted with a 14C Gold 'F' nib.
A rare pen in excellent condition. Rheingold pens had been Soennecken's top range button fillers. Quote (Lambrou's book): 'These were fitted with a special mechanism patented in April 1930. There was no blind cap which could be taken off as with the normal button fillers like the Duofolds; instead they had a hard rubber button which was covered by a shell. The shell could be screwed into the barrel to reveal the button. After filling, the shell was screwed away from the barrel to its normal position, thus covering the button.'

Features:
- A wonderful 14 K 585 Fine nib that offers smooth writing experience.
- Ebonite feed, keeps up very well with the nib. This nib is a wet writer, ebonite feed provides generous ink-flow.
- Transparent ink window without ink residue, with a bit of ambering.
- Ink sac has been replaced. Filling mechanism works fine.
- Rings show no loss of gold plating.
- No cracks, no dents, please check the HQ photos.
- Flaws: some microscratches, otherwise in excellent/outstanding condition. The pen had been reviewed by Fountainbel in Belgium to make sure the pen works how it is supposed to.
I tried my very best to make decent photos and video of the pen, Please check them as they are part of this offer and are the best way to describe the pen.
