Hi everyone I see many names here I recognise from FPN.
Some time ago following an accident I had to learn to write again this got me interested in pens again.
More recently I have become interested in writing slopes and boxes in general.

Hi Michael
Good to see you on here as well. I've always read your posts with interest and have been missing your slope and box updates since the other place has been down.

Welcome welcome.

Sorry to hear about your accident, happy to read that you're still able to write, even if you had to re-learn it. Weird question, now that you've had to re-learn to write, do you find your handwriting this time different than what it was prior to the accident?

My writing was never fantastic and it is worse now.
I have been left with significant nerve damage not a lot of good sensation plenty of bad.
I found restoring old pens to be good therapy I find box making and restoration therapeutic as well.
I don't find your question weird I spend a lot of time talking about my accident.

I mentioned earlier that I would share some of my recent projects

Very nice work, did you make these following a plan or are they your own creation? And if plans are available for the last box pictured would you share?

Regards

Hi Carl
Sorry I missed your post here the large box you mentioned was a custom order for alc3261 who is also a member here.
I did not have any plans I was given an overall size of a space on her desk and started from there.
I am happy to help you in any way i can if you wish to make your own box there is a folder full of pictures on my flickr account if you want to take a look.
It has gone to its new home so I cant measure it but i am sure that I can remember most of the sizes

Hello, Michael

Welcome to FPG.

I just picked an old writing slope today (my first) from a deceased relative's house clear-out.
It's in a right old state. It was going to go into the skip, but I thought it was too good to throw away.
(Pen wasn't included, it's my old faithful 146)

Hope you enjoy your time here. It's a great forum.

Enjoy.

(Pictures are just iphone snaps. Not brilliant, but quicker than a thousand words)

That is in fantastic condition compared to the ones I normally work with

This is my current project the outside was even worse

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7344/8720243939_fe893a4fd7_z.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/47080473@N07/8720243939/)

The outside now has wenge veneer on the back and sides and burr walnut on the top and front.

So I would say your box is in pretty good condition considering its age are you planning on restoring it?

Gosh! I see what you mean.
You've got your work cut out with that one!

No, got no plans for it just yet. Was a purely opportunistic find.

Loving your work, by the way. Great stuff.

Enjoy.
