Hero 329

These are the two pens models that were responsible for starting His Nibs.com thirteen years ago, when Mrs. Nibs brought back some from Hong Kong for my personal pen collection. I introduced them to the nascent eBay then at $15.00 each. Thirteen years later, I now sell them for....$15.00 each.

I'm often asked what the difference is between the 329 and 330 models. It's a cosmetic difference only (cap color, shape of cap and barrel end). The business end and internal construction is identical.

"Hello Norman. Since my last message to you, I've inked up my new '329' and covered an entire notebook page with Forest Green words of praise and joy! Norman, this pen writes beautifully! Substantially finer than my Al-Star's 'extra fine' nib (which is perfect for me) so I'll have no trouble writing in the margins of papers and books. I am completely satisfied with the balance of this pen (posted and unposted). I am also jubilant about the '329' from a perspective of aesthetics; this is a gorgeous writing instrument!...Since receiving my 329 two days ago, I've continuously tested its limits regarding inks, paper compatibility and overall performance. It writes flawlessly on every level of paper from Clairefontaine to newsprint. I can finally use a fountain pen with my Moleskine again! =) My 329 also lays down such a smooth, hair-fine line so that writing in cramped margins on poor-quality mass-produced books and cheap printer paper is an absolute breeze!

"Hi Norman, I need another Hero 329. I've been using it to draw my New Yorker cartoons (they've bought 5 so far). Last night I sat down with it in my pocket and I broke the body in half. I'm glad they're still available. The pen is great. I've been using it every day for over a year and it only gets smoother."
Shannon Wheeler

"Hi, Norman: I am usually not a fine nib fountain pen user; however, I must say that I absolutely love the Hero 329! Though a very fine line, it writes ever so smoothly and is a joy to use. You may have converted a medium-bold nib user. Best,"
C. H., Twinsburg, OH

"Norm, received the Hero today and must confess that I was "taken back." A new standard in my pen search. The Hero writes smooth, slick and leaves a nice wet line as it skates along the paper.... all for 15 bucks. A Parker 51 it ain't, but few 51's write like the Hero."

Delta price increase coming

http://www.yafa.com/images/deltahome_oro.jpg

Delta of Italy makes some of the finest regular production and limited edition pens in the world. Most recognizable for their iconic Dolcevita (the 'sweet life') line, as with the newest Oro above, they regularly produce models that become 'must have' pens.

Although I'll occasionally keep stock on hand of certain models, generally -- due to the large number of models and various nib size combinations -- I place customer orders directly with YAFA (Delta's U.S. distributor) when they're received. Not needing to stock everything helps me to provide the 20% across-the-board discount I've always offered over the years.

As I've been informed that all Delta prices will increase in October, I wanted to alert you to that fact and remind you of this incredible line of pens.

"Original Greek statues were brightly painted, but after thousands of years, those paints have worn away. Find out how shining a light on the statues can be all that's required to see them as they were thousands of years ago."
