View Full Version : EF nib for a Levenger True Writer?

Has anyone successfully replaced a Levenger True Writer nib with something that Levenger has not supplied? I wrote their support to inquire, and they replied that the nib/section/feed is integral, cannot be disassembled, and is only supplied pre-assembled in the three sizes they offer (F, M, B). But I want an extra fine nib!

The fine nib on this pen is just dandy on high-end paper, but useless to me on cheaper, more-absorbent paper. (This is a regular True Writer, not a True Writer Select)

Alternatively, if you have ideas on making this pen dryer, that could be a useful approach as well. Thanks!

Hi,

The only thing I can suggest is sending it to Mark Bacas or Dan Smith and have them grind it into an F nib. Dan might also be able to make it a drier writer, too.

I've learned that Levenger uses Schmidt nib units and #5 size nibs, but you can also friction-fit a JoWo nib into the existing unit. So that's the new plan.
